The Criminal Investigations Division is the investigative branch of the police department, performing all criminal investigations and working to prosecute all criminal cases.
Detectives assigned to CID are responsible for carrying out complete investigations. There are numerous responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:
- Interviewing witnesses and suspects
- Surveillance
- Preparation and execution of search and arrest warrants
- Processing crime scenes
- Submitting evidence to crime labs
- Preparation of case reports for submission to the District Attorney’s Office
- Court and Grand Jury testimony
- Networking with other agencies
