JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - 911 lines are down across the state, and agencies are taking to social media to post alternate numbers for people to call when seeking help.
“Attention: 911 and administration lines are currently down statewide. This has impacted calls and emergency responses. Officials are working with AT&T to identify and correct the problem,” Hinds County Sheriff/Jackson Police Chief Tyree Jones said. “Will continue to update and provide a contingency plan.”
In case of emergency, residents in Jackson and Hinds County can call the following numbers:
